The vitamin E family contains eight antioxidants. It’s a fat soluble and can be found in vegetable oils, nuts, green leafy vegetables, avocado, seeds, tomatoes, whole grains, apples and carrots.
It’s role inside the body is to get rid of free radicals, it plays a role in cell signaling and acts as an anti inflammatory. Whilst there are no deficiency symptoms or resulting conditions from low levels of vitamin E, I would still recommend getting some of the food groups that contain vitamin E in your diet each day.
Vitamin E is known better for its role outside the body and if you look closely at the label you will see it is added to most moisturisers for dry skin.
A few of the benefits of Vitamin E oil
- It protects the skin from Sun Damage. Vitamin E can boost the skins natural defences against free radicals and ultraviolet rays. It protects against by blocking the absorption of UV rays. (not to be used as a sun screen)
- Vitamin E is excellent for treating sunburn. It reduces redness swelling and sensitivity. Try storing the cream in the fridge for more cooling.
- It soothes skin after shaving, by acting as an anti inflammatory.
- Applying vitamin E to the stretch marks helps reduce the scarring by increasing the levels of nutrients in the skin tissue.
- FSC vitamin E cream is an excellent all round moisturiser especially on rough areas of skin like knees and elbows.
